Overview
L.K.Bennett is an international luxury fashion brand, based in London, United Kingdom. Reflecting its modern British heritage, it has established itself as a leading British brand, offering collections of shoes, clothing, handbags and accessories.
Founded by Linda Bennett in London in 1990, L.K.Bennett has since established itself as a leading British fashion brand, offering sophisticated collections of shoes, clothing, handbags and accessories to meet the lifestyle of every woman.
Bennett set up the first L.K.Bennett shop in Wimbledon Village, with a goal to produce “something in-between the designer footwear you find in Bond Street and those on the high street”. Because of her equal emphasis on comfort and glamour, Bennett earned the nickname “Queen of the Kitten Heel”.
Originally renowned for signature shoe collections favoured by celebrities and stylish women alike, L.K.Bennett rapidly became the ultimate destination for feminine footwear, leading to the introduction of womenswear collections in 1998.
Ten years later, L.K.Bennett embarked upon a significant step in the expansion strategy when Robert Bensoussan, co-founder of Sirius Equity, together with Phoenix Equity Partners, invested in the brand as majority shareholders to support the continued growth of the company. Annick Gorman who previously held creative posts at Celine, Cacharel and Galeries Lafayette was appointed in December 2008 as Creative Director to direct the design philosophy.
The brand vision has evolved to ensure that fashion product is the key driver of the company. The over 135 strong retail stores now form part of a design-driven international label with a luxury twist. The distinctive handwriting stays strong with a dedicated in-house design team creating looks that appeal to our expanding customer base.
Nowadays, L.K.Bennett is an international, accessible luxury brand that reflects its unmistakable British heritage; a modern blend of femininity, colour and style. Our collections of shoes, ready-to-wear, handbags and accessories, appeal to women who want a wardrobe perfect for any occasion.

October 2013
The owners of LK Bennett have been forced to pump millions of pounds into the footwear and handbag chain after a spat with its banks.
Lloyds demanded the cash injection amid fears that the high-end retailer was struggling with its debts.
The company posted a pre-tax loss of £10m for 2012 despite a 15% rise in sales. It has 160 stores, 50 of them in Britain.
Testy discussions resulted in Lloyds stepping down as primary bank during the summer. It has been replaced by Burdale, an asset-based institution that often acts as a lender of last resort. The size of the cash injection from LK Bennett’s two private equity owners, Phoenix and Sirius, is not known.

January 2014
High Street favourite L.K. Bennett has enlisted the fashion force of this year’s bright young modelling star, Sam Rollinson, to show off its spring/summer 2014 campaign.
The Doncaster-born model follows in the well-dressed footsteps of British actresss Rosamund Pike and Emily Mortimer in modelling for the brand, and features in a series of retrospective poses that draws inspiration from the brand’s love affair with the seaside and traditional British ‘caffs’.
And you’d be hard pushed to find anything closer to that than London’s Regency Café - a quirky-cool gaff that’s celebrated for its retro décor that has stayed virtually the same since it opened in 1947. We’re taking lino floor (patched with yellow gaffer tape), Colman’s mustard and gingham curtains around the lower half of the windows and Formica tables. It’s quintessentially British in its truest form and was voted London’s fifth best restaurant by over one million users of Yelp last year.
The new collection itself which features a cheery palette of raspberry, coral, barley sugar to bright white and navy in exaggerated shapes cut out of structured fabrics.
The seaside-inspired collection will be launching in store and online from February, while its sister capsule line, which features towards the end of the film in beautiful black and white shots, will launch alongside the collection in selected stores on 12th February, ahead of London Fashion Week

L.K.Bennett & Artists
L.K.Bennett collaborated with the artist, style icon and designer, Caroline Issa, to create a special shoe line. Upon asking Caroline on her inspiration she responded:
My inspiration was a trip to Thailand and the beautiful trinkets and accessories I brought back with me as my memories. I was very involved throughout the entire design process closely working with the L.K.Bennett team and the brilliant Kim Saint (Head of Production) who completely understood my vision and helped me translate it so well.
This is one way where a brand has collaborated outside it’s field to create genus designs and caused a mark on their brand analysis.
