The Molton Brown story began in 1973, when the South Molton Street emporium first opened its doors in London's Mayfair.Two decades later and the creations can now be experienced in more than 70 countries worldwide, in their own emporia and through their partnerships with the world's finest retailers.

TIMELINE BRAND
- 1973 - The story begins as we blend haircare products by hand above a salon on London's South Molton Street, Mayfair.
- 1979 - Our first body products launch, starting our love affair with exotically scented, skin-conditioning body washes, body lotions and bath oils. We also hit the shelves of Harrods (a strong friendship we've kept to the present day)
- 1985- We become trailblazers of men's grooming with the launch of MB Men: a full skincare, haircare, fragrance and shaving line-up for gents. Today we're still keeping chaps looking tip-top with our dedicated men's range.
- 1987- Our book (yes, book!) "Molton Brown, A Way of Looking" is published, showcasing our unique take on beauty and wellbeing.1989 - A hotel manager pops into our London store and falls in love with our products. Forty years later and we now stock hotels (and cruise ships) in over 65 countries. Our iconic Orange & Bergamot is born. It's one of the first luxury hand washes available on the market.
- 1996 - We bring plant extracts from the Madagascan rainforest into the mainstream with the launch of Ylang-Ylang Body Wash. British Vogue hails the move as "innovative and holistic"
- 1998 - Our first website launches, allowing us to deliver products to doors around the world. We now have dedicated sites for Europe,Australia and America to make shopping outside our island that bit easier.
- 2001- We launch the Gingerlily collection. Its blend of hydrating Tahitian tamanu oil, fiery ginger and sandalwood make it an instant bestseller.
- 2002 - Our much loved hero, Black Peppercorn Body Wash is launched. It becomes an instant bestseller, going on to win award after award.
- 2004 - We head across the pond and open a store in New York's hip SoHo. Today we live up to our "London via the World" message with Molton Brown products stocked in over 70 countries.
- 2008 - We make more friends with the launch of our Facebook page. Today we're having conversations all over the web, including Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
- 2010 - The Pink Pepperpod arrives (a partner to No.1 seller Black Peppercorn). It quickly proves that pink is the new black, with great sales and press coverage.
- 2011- Our first unisex fine fragrance collection, Navigations Through Scent, is launched. Telling the history of perfume, from Egypt to the modern day, the products are featured in the likes of British and Australian Vogue, British GQ and Sunday Times Style.
- 2012- Our Skincare and Anti-ageing Bodycare Collection launches. It cuts out the usual jargon in the skincare marketplace in favour of clinical proof, streamlined steps and visible results.
- 2013- We celebrate 40 years of Molton Brown with the anniversary editionPatchouli & Saffron Collection, including a body wash, body lotion, single wick candle and limited edition travel bag printed with a Seventies-inspired print.

It’s a bit of a departure for Molton Brown: The brand have decided to change the way they use visual imagery and, to support the September launch of their renewed and revamped core body range, they have decided that the in-store photography and A/W campaign visuals will use two models to embodify their two best-selling fragrances, Black Peppercorn and Pink Pepperpod. Instantly recognisable and globally renowned, Pink Pepperpod has long been one of Molton Brown’s best-selling collections. Rich in protective antioxidants this evocative blend features top notes of pink pepper with warming ginger and patchouli oils.

In October, a stroke of brand marketing, was to invite the blogger Sasha Wilkins (blog libertylondongirl.com) to spend twenty-four hours at The Goring Hotel in London. The hotel is where they shot their new advertising campaign, which is all about the idea of taking the team, and they suggested her find some ways to do just that. The first mission was to the bar, where Head Barman Brian Kinsella. and Sasha looked at the ingredients in the Pink Pepperpod, and Black Peppercorn fragrances and came up with two delicious cocktails that matched them.

On Thursday 21 November 2013 join Leeds Children’s Charity to sample the brand new range at their flagship store in Victoria Quarter. Molton Brown will be on hand to showcase their new product range and will also be offering hand and arm massages to soothe any aches and pains the cold weather brings. Tickets to the event are just £10 and include a free glass of wine on arrival, entry to the raffle and a goodie bag containing a £5 gift card and 2 50ml products worth £10!

MOLTON BROWN LAUNCHES MOBILE WEBSITES WITH ORACLE COMMERCE
KAO Group, owners of Molton Brown, the British luxury goods company which specializes in skin-care products, has successfully launched mobile enabled websites across multiple regions including North America, Europe, Australia and Japan using Oracle Commerce. Molton Brown, which has products distributed in more than 70 countries worldwide, plans to drive growth through the launch of mobile enabled commerce websites which provide an enhanced and consistent buying experience for its customers.
By utilizing Oracle Commerce capabilities, Molton Brown is able to realize its commerce anywhere vision by leveraging single platform management control across its store, online and mobile channels. The launch of the mobile sites was accelerated using the Commerce Reference Store Mobile solution.The company’s target of delivering an engaging, virtually seamless and personalized experience to each customer is achieved through the Oracle Commerce solution, which is helping to generate increased conversion rates, improved order value, and ongoing customer loyalty.
After an evaluation of available solutions, Oracle was selected by Molton Brown to support the company in realizing its commerce anywhere goals due to Oracle’s retail expertise and capability for rapid solution deployment. The successful implementation of the mobile websites was a significant step in Molton Brown’s vision for driving growth through a dynamic omni-channel strategy.
MOLTON BROWN TRANSFORM COVENT GARDEN STORE WITH LED LIGHT SHEET
Applelec’s LED Light Sheet has been selected to backlight shelving in store display systems at Molton Brown, with a store in Covent Garden the latest location to feature the lighting unit. The starting point for the store concept was nature and science with the ambition to create a unique environment that provided a harmony between the natural elements and the scientific processes that are at the core of Molton Brown. These principles are overlaid with gestures of London to convey brand heritage and contemporary London. The aim was to create an environment that engages with all customers, inviting them to play and discover the journey of each product.
The interior colour palette is purposefully calm and neutral, providing a canvas against which the colorful Molton Brown products are displayed. Claire Hinkins, Molton Brown 3D Designer explains: ‘The use of colour is a big part of our brand equity and it was therefore essential that we highlighted this within the concept. The use of LED Light Sheet enhances the vibrancy of the mineral and botanical colours of all products which in turn become a part of the interior scheme.’
Molton Brown stores have always featured product lighting, but for the new concept LED Light Sheet was selected due to its combination of low heat emissions and long life guarantee. The vivid product displays are possible due to the cool running of LED Light Sheet which ensures heat sensitive products, such as cosmetics and candles, may be displayed directly on the lighting unit without risk of depreciation.
Applelec continually seek to provide solutions provision, and the Molton Brown store presented two distinct challenges to address. Claire comments: ‘Applelec assisted with design detailing to ensure the LED spotting from LED Light Sheet was completely hidden. Additionally, we could not get the desired 5300 Kelvin colour temperature for the perimeter pelmet lighting to match the LED lit shelves. Applelec have managed to resolve this issue and are now providing matching LED strips for the pelmet. The completed store triumphs in a tantalising product rainbow, brightly glowing against the white shelving system to a backdrop of London’s stylish Covent Garden.ar .
